Postcards - September 2004 - Rigby Road Depot

I paid a visit to Blackpool for an open day at the Rigby Road tram depot and bus garage, where I had a very interesting tour of the works.

The tour included one of the substations which supplies the tram system. They've kept one panel of the disused old equipment for comparison.

There were plenty of buses and trams to look at. The newly refurbished "HMS Blackpool" shown on the left went on her first run the day before.

I ended my visit with a tram ride along the tracks linking the depot with the front, not usually available to passengers.
