After a period of closure the East London Line has re-opened and been extended as part of London Overground. Here's a couple of before-and-after pictures at New Cross station. The before pictures were taken in 2007.
The new Class 378 trains are air conditioned and have limited seating with lots of standing room. The wide connections between the cars make the whole train into one long space.
A couple more 'before' pictures from October 2007 showing 'A Stock' at Wapping and Surrey Quays.
The new East London Line service has been extended southwards over existing railway lines from New Cross Gate to the rather impressive station at Crystal Palace.
