A cheap train tickets offer encouraged me to make a very short visit to Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to a thriving Shakespeare industry. I eschewed a tour of the house that Shakespeare's second cousin's next door neighbour's ex-girlfriend once visited, and just took a stroll round the town in the glorious October sunshine. (And visited a couple of pubs.)
The banks on the High Street have some fine architecture...
... and even the Wetherspoon's is half-timbered.
